Serving over 150,000 companies worldwide has its challenges, but Salesforce is poised to meet those needs at every level. As businesses strive to compete in a worldwide economy, their customers expect innovation. More importantly, they expect speed in the way their data moves and responds. As they come up with new ideas, they need a way to implement them quickly and allow them to grow. Organizations don't want to spend resources and time on performance or the security of their data; they want it to be taken care of.
Salesforce is rapidly outgrowing its current configuration of shared production orgs. It's quite a balancing act for Salesforce to keep Data within each org while maintaining seamless service across all instances. Org splits keep this moving, but it also has limitations on growth. Instead of continually adding instances on its servers, it needed to expand outside of the box.
To this end, Salesforce has built Hyperforce, a new infrastructure architecture that unifies the foundations of the various clouds and allows Salesforce to scale rapidly and securely using public cloud partners. No longer are you limited to space on a server for data. Now the world's cloud is your playground.
Similar to migration when an org split occurs (moving from one server platform to another), migration to Hyperforce works similarly, with checklists and planning. There is a small window of downtime during migration, and then the rest is seamless. You may need to upgrade some data and processes ahead of time, but that is a good practice anyway. Once migrated, there is transparency in where your data is.
Salesforce can concentrate on providing products and services that the customer can see, while cloud providers handle innovation at the infrastructure level. There is no cost to migrate to Hyperforce. New products will be offered on a cloud-native platform as opposed to local servers. There are no new storage options available, but these will be incorporated in the future. Hyperforce has mission-critical availability. Instead of primary and secondary redundancies, Hyperforce operates over three availability zones. The most significant advantage to customers is in performance and capacity. As you are closer to the data, there is less latency and optimal performance. Whether you need ample or low-grade data storage, Hyperforce will accommodate your needs without negatively impacting your use of cases or integrations of functions.
While a company can choose a location or region, it can't select a particular cloud. AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure are the major cloud providers. If there are two available in your specified location, Hyperforce can choose the one they feel is most advantageous for your situation. Hyperforce is currently only available in select regions. If you desire a different area, you may need to wait until the implementation expands. Salesforce started in India and Australia, where there was a great need. If you already have part of your platform on the cloud, you will need to work with Salesforce architects to see how everything works together. If you run into limits, these will not go away just because you are on a new platform. There are new products or options for solutions to see why you are hitting limits.
