Get excited, Salesforce DevOps teams!
The Flosum Winter 2023 Release is just around the corner and packed with new enhancements and features to help you get the most out of Salesforce.
There are three main focus areas for this release – Intelligent DevOps, Automated DevOps QA and Hardened Domain Management – all designed based on input from clients, Salesforce partners, and teams of Salesforce developers.
We’ll host a webinar on Oct. 26 to dive into all the details and take your questions. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at Intelligent DevOps with market-leading demerge functionality which will save weeks of work for release managers.
Intelligent DevOps
This is huge! With this release, a market-first demerge functionality finally automates the ability to demerge branches by helping developers, admins and release managers simplify the process of rolling back and undoing changes.
Why is this important?
Removing user stories from a release branch is a release manager’s worst nightmare. Imagine the chaos if 100+ user stories have been merged, but then the business says they aren’t ready for stories 55-60. Historically, the release manager would need to re-create the entire release branch. One of the biggest pain points in the DevOps lifecycle is demerging branches as part of ongoing development activity, causing hours – if not weeks – of manual work to deal with this changing release feature scope, especially if the team consists of 50-60 developers.
The demerge functionality provides a solution to this common problem. Demerge will allow release managers to remove unwanted stories as well as the dependencies that come along with them.
Flosum DevOps is now able to support multiple branch merges, improving release managers’ productivity while allowing developers to merge multiple feature branches under a single release branch.
Why is this important?
This feature will improve velocity of development and ease of use for both developers and release mangers.
